NYSATA rewards the time, talent and expertise of members and members of the art community with a series of awards that are presented annually at the state conference.

Raymond C. Henry Award

A grant of $500 is awarded annually to a NYSATA member to aid in the development of a specialized art education project or study which will benefit the individual and members of the art education profession.

Regional Art Educator of the Year

Each of NYSATA's ten regions chooses one outstanding art educator to be awarded a plaque at the annual conference. Criteria include outstanding contributions to the field of art education and service to the local and state organization. Section awardees compete for the state level award for the following year.

Region nomination due to Regional Chair by June 1.

Regional Art Educator of the Year Application

NYSATA's New York State Art Educator of the Year Award

This award is chosen from the pool of Regional State Art Educators of the previous year. It is presented at the conference, and the name of the recipient is sent to the National Art Education Association for further recognition and consideration for National awards.

Application due to NAEA by Oct. 1 is submitted by the current NYSATA President.

Outstanding Service Award

Awarded at the time of retirement for outstanding service to NYSATA. Nominees must be an active or associate member for at least 15 years prior to retirement. Awardees are recognized at the annual convention.

Special Citations

Member, Non-Member, Institution, School District Member
Awarded to a member, non-member, institution or corporation that has made a significant contribution to art education. In order to receive the Special Citation for a School District Member, the nominee must have current District Membership status. Recipients are presented with a plaque at the annual convention.
